FRIEND OF STOMACH & DIGESTION

Bitter melon has been used in folk medicine for many years for stomach ulcers and digestive problems.

A study conducted by New York University found that bitter melon used in the treatment of gastritis and ulcers contains a protein that inhibits the replication of the HIV virus. Its antibiotic effect and tumor-suppressing effect have been linked to the lutein and lycopene it contains. The bitter melon plant is as well-known as aloe vera.

It is used in:

* Mexico for dysentery and tuberculosis

* Brazil for malaria, fever, asthma, and cough

* Peru for measles, malaria, and infections

* Nicaragua for malaria, asthma, cough, and hypertension

* Chinese medicine for injections, cancer, diabetes, and many other health problems

* Leukemia cells – shown to inhibit DNA synthesis due to its protein content

* AIDS treatment – thought to be beneficial because it contains Substance Q

Considering the plant’s antiviral and therapeutic properties, it is believed that the coronavirus emerging in 2019 may also show sensitivity to this plant.

Bitter melon is known as a fruit that helps relieve stomach disorders. It also helps relieve intestinal discomfort, eczema, and psoriasis. It supports the healing of wounds and inflammation and is used for uterine disorders, especially for wound healing. Due to its high vitamin E content and high protein content, it helps in the formation and healing of ulcers, gastritis, colitis, and some digestive system disorders. It also helps prevent constipation. It is very beneficial for burns and wounds.

Bitter melon, rich in flavonoids (antioxidants) and vitamins, contains a natural insulin-like substance called momordicin.

Research has shown that bitter melon supports increased insulin secretion. In Chinese research, strong findings were obtained showing that this feature is powerful in Type II diabetes. Studies with diabetic patients showed that bitter melon protects beta cells of the pancreas and increases insulin secretion while lowering blood sugar. It was also understood that it reduces high lipid levels.
